A Chinese bought a well from an Englishman.
The next day while on his way to market he met the Englishman who told him:
"Brother, I have sold the well to you but I have not sold the water, if you use the water you will have to pay for it."
The Chinese replied: "Ah, yes. I was planning to go to your place and ask you to empty the water and if you don't do it then you will have to pay the rent for the water in my well."
Don't try to screw a Chinaman.
| 한 중국인이 영국인으로 부터 우물을 하나 샀다. 그 다음 날 중국인은 시장에 가는 길에 영국인을 만났는데 영국인이 말하기를.
"어 거기 자네, 내가 어제 자네에게 우물을 팔았지만 그안의 물은 팔지 않았지. 그러니 자네 그 물 쓸 때 마다 물 값을 내야하네." 중국인이 답했다. "아 그런가, 나도 자네집을 찾아 가려던 참일세. 그 우물 안의 물을 비워 달라고 청하려고. 그리고 그 물을 비우지 않는 한 그 물의 저장 세를 내야 할 것이네."
중국사람 엿 멕이려 들지 마시게. |
